The Fungus Hook is a hardmode hook that is dropped by the Fungi Bulb Rangler during the Shroomite Invasion (it will not drop if the player lost to the invasion and the enemies spawn everywhere). The hook has a long reach and fast speed. It has 4 extensions and can still shoot out a fifth, but when the fifth one lands, then the first one retracts. Enemies in the path of the hook will get damaged.
